Democratic Party MP Tomor Alizoti commented on the new wiretaps involving Ergys Agasi on the show Zonë e Lirë. In a conversation with two Israelis, Agasi says, among other things, that the head of the State Intelligence Service (SHISH), Vlora Hyseni, is a close friend of his.
Alizoti said what can be heard in the recordings is appalling and shows that the state has been brought to its knees. He described it as scandalous that the intelligence chief is, in his words, “in the grip” of a strongman.

The Democratic Party MP said that if the head of the intelligence service falls under a strongman’s influence, the consequences for a state are severe. He noted that intelligence services operated with rigor even during the dictatorship, whereas matters that should remain highly secret are now being discussed in television studios.
According to Alizoti, banality is taking hold in the country’s most important institution for safeguarding secrets, something he described as the collapse of the state.
