Alshiqi was placed in 48-hour detention on suspicion of abuse of official position, accepting bribes and disclosing official secrets.
According to the initial findings of the investigation, unauthorized persons are suspected of having obtained official information about certain properties in exchange for bribes.
The prosecution suspects that these actions were intended to transfer ownership of the properties, which are believed to be of very high value.
The prosecution links the suspect to cooperation with other individuals in committing three criminal offenses: “Abuse of official position or authority,” “Accepting bribes” and “Disclosure of official secrets.”
The Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crime and Corruption in Pristina carried out his arrest.
According to the prosecution’s announcement, investigative work will continue to fully clarify the case and determine any potential criminal responsibility.
Until his guilt is established by a final court decision, the suspect enjoys the presumption of innocence.
