The operation codenamed “Crime Prevented” was carried out by the Divjakë Police Station in cooperation with the Crime Investigation structures at the Fier Local Police Directorate, and six people were arrested.

Orgito Lamka, Kevin Sota, Serxhio Duda, Shahin Xhepexhiu, Santiago Alla and Zeni Kule were arrested as part of the “Crime Prevented” operation.

The incident began following a conflict at a bar owned by 50-year-old Z. K., after police were notified of a clash involving blunt objects.

At the scene, officers found 22-year-old O. L. and 51-year-old Sh. Xh., who had been injured during the conflict. After receiving medical treatment and giving statements at the police station, both returned to their homes.

Several hours later, police received operational intelligence that O. L. had returned to the bar armed with a silenced pistol and, investigators suspect, intended to kill Sh. Xh. The immediate intervention of police officers made it possible to prevent the incident.

During the operation, police arrested 22-year-old O. L., who, according to police, has a criminal record for the production and sale of narcotics in Albania and Belgium. At the time of the intervention, he was found with a silenced pistol that had a round in the chamber and was ready to fire.

K. S., 45, who has a criminal record for the production and sale of narcotics in Albania, was also arrested. During a search of his vehicle, police found another pistol.

S. D., 28, was arrested after investigators determined that he had been driving the vehicle in which O. L. returned to the bar several hours after the conflict. Meanwhile, 30-year-old S. A. is accused of attempting to remove the firearm from K. S.’s vehicle.

The bar’s owner, Z. K., 50, was also arrested during the operation for failure to report a crime. Sh. Xh., 51, was arrested for the same offense after the investigation found that he had not told the truth about the conflict.

Police seized two pistols, one of them fitted with a silencer, four vehicles and six mobile phones as evidence. The weapons will undergo ballistic examination.

Investigations are continuing to fully document the circumstances of the conflict, determine the responsibility of each person involved and verify their possible criminal activity.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Fier Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for further action.
