The Social Democratic Union (LSDM) came out today with a harsh reaction to yesterday’s statement by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who pledged that before the end of the mandate, the average salary in the country will rise to 1000 euros.

According to LSDM, there is a clear contradiction between Mickoski’s speeches outside Parliament and his behavior inside it, where, they emphasize, he has not given support even for raising the minimum wage to 600 euros.
The party underscores that the government led by Mickoski has no financial capacity either for employees’ payments or for pensions, while, according to it, the country is sinking deep into debt and this burden falls on the shoulders of citizens.
“The Prime Minister continues with promises about wages, but when the moment came to support the minimum wage of 600 euros, he stayed aside. A new promise, a new figure – but nothing concrete. Meanwhile, workers are squeezed every day to cover living costs. No standard is built with rhetoric and the average wage is not raised with fairy tales. What the worker needs is a bigger payment into the account today, money for food and for bills,” LSDM stated.
It is recalled that yesterday Mickoski declared that he expects the average net wage in the country to exceed the figure of 1000 euros by the spring of 2028. According to the data he presented, in the month of July this wage was 48,499 denars, a number which, according to him, corresponds to an annual nominal increase of 7.1 percent.
As the Prime Minister pointed out, the Government’s goal is to ensure a considerable increase in the average incomes of employed persons during the remaining period of governance.
