The Kosovo Security Force conducted the “Maintenance Event” training as part of its efforts to continuously enhance its professional capabilities. The activity was held at the SMAR facility at Gjakova Airport.

KSF members took part in the training, with support provided by members of the Iowa National Guard of the United States of America. This cooperation created opportunities to exchange experiences and expand technical knowledge in the maintenance of HMMWV vehicles.
KSF members received hands-on training in procedures for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing the vehicles’ main systems. Particular attention was paid to the transmission, fuel system and electronic systems.
According to the KSF announcement, an important part of the activity was strengthening the skills of the Force’s instructors so that the knowledge and experience gained could be passed on to other members.
The KSF considers this training a further step toward increasing its technical and professional capabilities, improving efficiency in vehicle maintenance and deepening its long-term cooperation with the Iowa National Guard.
