Belind Këlliçi, deputy chairman of the Democratic Party, has reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama’s statements after his return from the United States, accusing him of responsibility for a series of issues that, according to Këlliçi, have harmed the country’s governance.

He said that although Rama had announced a press conference in Rinas, he preferred to deliver a monologue and avoid facing questions from journalists.
Regarding Rama’s visit to New York, Këlliçi criticized both the prime minister’s speech and his meetings during his stay in the US. According to him, the prime minister was met with protests and failed to hold the meetings announced in advance; he claimed that the only meetings Rama managed to have were with Taulant Balla and Pjerin Ndreu.
Këlliçi went on to make a series of accusations against the prime minister, including issues related to asset declarations, incinerators, concessions, the Port of Durrës and public procurement procedures. He ended his statement by calling for Edi Rama’s immediate resignation.
In his address to citizens, Këlliçi said that Rama had summoned journalists to Rinas for an extraordinary press conference but, frightened by their questions, returned to his usual monologue. According to him, the prime minister spoke as if dazed about internal enemies and about successes that, in Rama’s view, those enemies were obstructing.
Këlliçi linked this stance to what happened in New York, where, according to him, Rama spoke about artificial intelligence and accused his own people of being anti-Semitic in an almost empty hall, while Vučić mentioned Kosovo. He added that the prime minister was met with protests at his very first meeting in Michigan and that, after a total boycott, the only result was meetings with Taulant Balla and Pjerin Ndreu.
Furthermore, Këlliçi said that Rama returned from New York having been met with protests and contempt, after spending vast sums that, he said, were worthy only of the head of a “narco-state.” He added that the speech about Diella, prepared with ChatGPT, provoked disgust. Burdened by the issues surrounding his government, instead of appearing before journalists as he had announced, Rama hid behind a shameful monologue. His motto was: “Do not think that I have stolen from you.”
Këlliçi then accused Rama of defending Vlora Hyseni in this self-degrading monologue, just as he had previously defended Lubia. He described Hyseni as an immoral, undignified official with no sense of patriotism, appointed to a position of high state trust in violation of every criterion. According to him, Hyseni’s only merit was being dismissed by Kosovo authorities for theft and for handing over the data of Kosovo’s Intelligence Service to Belgrade.
He added that this defense showed that Rama was not held hostage only by Lubia, his accomplice and notary in his 27-year record of theft, but also by Ergys Agasi, Ermal Beqiri and Vlora Hyseni. According to him, Hyseni, as a leading member of this criminal organization, as a servant of drug cartels and as the “mistress” of the gang coordinator, placed the State Intelligence Service, national security and the secrets that NATO entrusts to member states at the service of these groups, with Rama’s approval.
Këlliçi stressed that Rama’s claims that he has not stolen in fact prove the opposite.
He accused Rama of unconstitutionally dismissing the chairwoman of the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets, immediately after she began investigating his wife’s five-story building, received as a dowry. According to him, the building has no customs, tax, bank or construction invoices and was built by a company that won hundreds of millions of euros in tenders.
Along the same lines, Këlliçi said that Rama dismissed the chairwoman of the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets in violation of the Constitution as soon as she began investigating his “mansion,” whose foundations are 57 meters long and which has an 8,300-square-meter park, larger than the Presidential Palace. He pointed out that these were built at a time when Rama had declared only 3,800 euros and 400,000 lek in savings.
He also recalled that Rama was accused in an official 2014 OSCE report of hiding 200 million euros in offshore banks.
Këlliçi stressed that Rama personally signed the allocation of 130 million euros for the Tirana incinerator, eight months before the company awarded the contract was created.
He accused Rama of facing direct allegations that he had transported hundreds of suitcases filled with euros out of the country on his private plane, but that he had refused the creation of a parliamentary investigative commission.
Këlliçi called Rama “the Albanians’ chief thief” and the true author of the sterilization, Check-Up and laboratory-testing concessions, through which, together with his ministers, at least 300 million euros are alleged to have been stolen.
He added that Rama, together with his “Alabar,” had stolen public land worth 3 billion euros at the Port of Durrës.
According to Këlliçi, Rama is the only prime minister to have used parliamentary mandates to block justice twice: he did not lift Saimir Tahiri’s immunity because, according to Këlliçi, he had shared the proceeds of trafficking with him, and he did not lift Balluku’s immunity because the latter’s case, involving hundreds of millions of euros in the Llogara Tunnel, Tirana’s Big Ring Road, the Arbër Road, Vlora Airport and the Qukës–Qafë Plloçë road, is above all Rama’s own case.
He described Rama as the chief thief of the Albanians throughout their history and accused him of inventing the “KAYO” model in order to destroy the procurement system. Through this model, goods purchased with public money are sold to his corrupt government, while the profit is shared with him.
Këlliçi continued by saying that Rama could turn a press conference into a monologue, but today every Albanian, in his darkened face, sees the criminal faces of Lubia, Balluku, Ergys Agasi, Ermal Beqiri, Vlora Hyseni, Linda Karçanaj and others. Therefore, according to him, Rama no longer has the face or the courage to appear before journalists.
Finally, Këlliçi announced that the Democratic Party strongly condemns Edi Rama as the head of Europe’s first and only narco-state, as the greatest thief of the Albanians and as the head of a system of scoundrels, Ballukus, Agasis, Hysenis, Beqiris and hundreds of others who, according to him, have built a state of thieves and the mafia in Albania. He called for the prime minister’s immediate resignation as a fundamental condition for resolving the deep crisis engulfing the country.
