An overall average of 3.66 was recorded across the three types of graduation exams. The average result for the state graduation exam was 3.62, the state vocational graduation exam average reached 3.91, while the state arts graduation exam average was 3.59.
Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska expressed satisfaction with the results. She noted that the average was almost the same as last year’s figure of 3.69 and was higher than in 2024, when the average was 3.26.
“I believe these are objective results due to the preparation of everyone involved in organizing the graduation exams,” Janevska said.
A total of 14,587 students who completed their secondary education during the 2025/2026 school year registered for the external exams in the June session. Of these, 12,184 took the state graduation exam, 2,276 took the state vocational graduation exam, and 127 students took the state arts graduation exam.
Of those registered, 348 students did not sit the exams. This figure represents 2.39 percent of the total.
For the first time this year, graduating students took three types of exams: the state graduation exam, the state vocational graduation exam, and the state arts graduation exam.
English was the most popular exam, with 13,208 students registered. Depending on the type of graduation exam, candidates could also choose mathematics, French, German, Russian, or Italian, while history was offered as an option in the arts graduation exam.
