According to the US president, no one had believed that reaching such an agreement with Hamas would be possible.
During remarks to the media, a journalist asked Trump whether Israel had provided assurances that it supports the agreement to disarm Hamas. He was also asked which process would take place first: the disarmament of Hamas or the withdrawal of IDF troops from Gaza.
“This is a major step for the Middle East. The situation in Gaza is extremely complex. The people are very complex and difficult. In many cases, they are wonderful, while in many other cases, they are not so wonderful,” he said.
Trump provided no further details about the agreement and did not clarify which of the two processes would begin first.
