Former military officer Hysen Gecaj spoke about the significance of the visit to the northern border area between Kosovo and Serbia, attended by U.S. Admiral George Wikoff, the new KFOR commander, Major General Roberto Vergori, and Kosovo Police Director General Gazmend Hoxha.

Gecaj described the visit as important for security issues in Kosovo and stressed the need for better coordination between local institutions and international security structures.
“This visit is very important when it comes to Kosovo’s security agenda. In recent years, we know that we have had problems with political coordination between our security institutions and international security institutions,” Gecaj said.
According to him, the visit highlights the need for Kosovo to improve coordination on border protection, particularly along its border with Serbia, which, he said, “has always shown aggression and has still not given it up.”
