The latest preliminary hearing in the case over Egli Proga’s killing lasted more than two hours, with all the accused asking for the trial to proceed under the abbreviated procedure.

Denis Meçe, charged with murder in collaboration, asked for his case to be separated from those of the other defendants and heard under the abbreviated procedure. The four other people accused in the incident made the same request to the court.
The court did not issue a decision during the hearing because of the complexity of the case and scheduled its continuation for October, reports journalist Lorena Kodra.
At the next hearing, the court is expected to decide whether the trial of those accused of Egli Proga’s killing will proceed under the ordinary procedure or the abbreviated procedure.
