A powerful fire has engulfed forest areas in southern Turkey, as emergency forces face major difficulties due to the strong wind that is fueling the spread of the flames in the province of Antalya.
The fire broke out near Kaş and authorities have launched a large-scale extinguishing operation, mobilizing numerous resources both from the air and on the ground to bring the situation under control.

For this mission, 6 helicopters, 3 firefighting planes, 14 ground firefighting vehicles, 5 water transport vehicles, 2 rapid response vehicles, and 135 forestry service personnel have been deployed, local media report.
Despite the immediate and scaled-up engagement, the wind remains a dangerous factor hindering the full containment of the fire. The operation continues uninterrupted, and firefighting teams are on high alert.
