A joint operation between the Customs Directorate and the Ministry of Internal Affairs resulted in the inspection of 38 watercraft on Lake Ohrid. During this action, authorities verified both the customs status of the vessels and the identity of the persons at the helm.

After the inspections, Customs noticed a higher volume of customs duty payments, especially for those vessels that had entered the customs territory under the temporary import regime.
Gjoko Trposki, who heads the Bitola Customs Office, stressed that the recent period has marked a significant increase in the fulfillment of import obligations by the owners of these vessels, which according to him demonstrates the effectiveness of the control measures.
On the other hand, the customs institution warned that monitoring actions will be continuous and any violation of the law will be punished, ranging from fines to outright confiscation of the watercraft.
