Fadil Zogaj and Ekrem Selimi, the two veterans arrested following an incident involving Vetëvendosje Movement MP Fahrush Rexhepi, were released on Monday.

The decision was made by the Basic Court in Prishtina, specifically its General Department’s Criminal Division, which terminated their pretrial detention on its own initiative.
The court confirmed the news. Zogaj and Selimi were suspected of assaulting MP Fahrush Rexhepi, as well as committing the criminal offense of “jointly assaulting an official.”
“On 12.10.2026, the preliminary proceedings judge issued a ruling terminating the pretrial detention of defendants F.Z. and E.S., and the defendants were released immediately on 12.10.2026,” the court’s confirmation stated.
