In 2025, businesses in North Macedonia recorded total turnover of more than €36 billion.
Data from the State Statistical Office show that 70,843 market-oriented businesses generated turnover of 2,226,478 million denars, equivalent to around €36.19 billion.

Their activity generated gross value added of 522,087 million denars, or approximately €8.49 billion.
Wholesale and retail trade accounted for the largest share of total turnover, at 38.7 percent. Manufacturing ranked second, contributing 24.5 percent.
In terms of gross value added, manufacturing led with 26.2 percent. Wholesale and retail trade accounted for 20 percent, construction for 10 percent, and telecommunications, computer programming, consultancy and other information technology activities for 9.2 percent.
