Blushi in the European Parliament: IPARD funds have been abused, EU investigation and transparency demanded

In the European Parliament, Tedi Blushi raised concerns over the lack of real investigations into the theft of IPARD funds, saying that, in his view, Edi Rama’s theft affects not only Albanian taxpayers, but also those of European citizens.

He said that for three years Albanian farmers have been punished by being left without European support, because the IPARD funds, according to him, have gone to the incinerators and criminal groups. Blushi also stressed that the Freedom Party’s request for accountability from the Minister of Agriculture has been rejected.

According to Blushi, the government has not undertaken any administrative investigation because, in his view, uncovering the theft of IPARD funds leads to Edi Rama. He added that the request for an interpellation on the IPARD funds has also been rejected because, according to him, this affair leads to Edi Rama.

Blushi stated that Albanian agriculture not only continues to be underfunded, but is now also being deprived of European Union assistance. In this context, he called for increased pressure from European institutions to clarify where Edi Rama sent the IPARD funds.

He also made it known that even a serial killer, declared wanted for years, is said to have benefited from agricultural funds. According to Blushi, the IPARD funds ended up with the incinerators and criminal gangs linked to Edi Rama.
