Besnik Xhemaili, a member of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), has been elected to the post of deputy chair of this institution, a duty he will perform for six months.

Chairman Adem Çuçulj announced that the selection was made according to the rotation principle, with the turn determined based on the alphabetical order of the SCPC members’ surnames.
Çuçulj explained that the mandate of the current deputy chair, Sofija Spasova Medarska, ends on August 18, while Besnik Xhemaili will start his new mandate on August 19 this year. The chairman’s proposal was approved by unanimous votes.
During today’s session, Çuçulj also announced that the Commission has identified 30 elected or appointed persons, or whose mandate ended in April, who have not met the legal deadline for submitting the declaration on assets and conflict of interest. According to him, criminal proceedings will be initiated against all these persons and fines will be imposed.
At the same session, the members of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption approved 51 decisions for as many cases, submitted to the SCPC by identified or anonymous complainants./Telegrafi/
