According to the party, the public has so far been confronted with conflicting versions of the events. The victims testify that the beatings continued even after they had surrendered and were handcuffed, while accusations have circulated in public claiming that the young men resisted police officers and that one of them grabbed an officer’s weapon.
DUI is demanding that the patrol’s initial report, the official minutes, and the relevant documents related to the case be made accessible to the public, provided that personal data is protected and the integrity of the investigation is not compromised.
Through a set of questions, the party is seeking clarification on who compiled the report, what the officers who took part in the intervention have stated, and to what extent their version matches the footage that citizens have already seen. These, according to DUI, are questions awaiting an official answer.
It is also emphasized that if there have been violations of police authorizations, responsibility must be assigned to each of the officers involved, without any exception. According to the party, citizens deserve to learn the truth, while the police are obliged to account for the way they used force.
DUI’s message was clear: the report must come to light, accountability must be enforced to the end, and no uniform guarantees protection before the law. /Telegrafi/
