Agim Bahtiri, an MP from the Vetëvendosje Movement, has criticized Alliance MP Time Kadrijaj after she threw eggs at his party leader, Albin Kurti.

In a statement to KosovaPress, Bahtiri said such behavior was unbecoming of someone who had fought for the country’s freedom.
“Listen, it is regrettable. A doctor, a woman who fought, to have come to this point—I cannot understand it. But we have always been the ones who understand everything. Violence is truly absurd, especially when it comes from people who say they have done a great deal for the country,” Bahtiri stated.
When asked whether similar actions previously carried out by the Vetëvendosje Movement in the Assembly could also be considered violence, he said that, in his view, they had been undertaken for a different cause.
“The Vetëvendosje Movement took action because it had a cause. My colleague’s behavior a few days ago is not a cause; it is not a cause, because there is no such cause involving something harmful to the state of the Republic of Kosovo. At that time, there was an exceptionally important cause because Kosovo was facing partition. And when it comes to the partition of Kosovo, no means are ruled out in defending it. Now, however, we have no such cause. Our cause is to bring all MPs together and stand up for the country from one end to the other,” Bahtiri said.
According to Bahtiri, the use of violence is always wrong; however, he argued that the reason behind such an action should also be considered.
“The act is always wrong when someone behaves violently, but taking into account the reason why it happened is another matter. For example, today cannot be compared with those days, when 17 percent of the territory was up for sale. One must consider what the situation was like then and what it is like today. Today, we have extended sovereignty across the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo, and we are maintaining and increasing the presence of state institutions throughout the country. And what I have just described is a cause for them to tear all that down and bring Radoičić back to Kosovo. Then let them say that they want to bring Radoičić back to Kosovo and that this is why we are causing such problems. Therefore, it is not an equal comparison,” Bahtiri stated.
