Today, Erion Veliaj’s lawyer, Plarent Ndreca, in a statement to the media, declared that the Administrative Court’s decision to dismiss the mayor’s request against prosecutor Ols Dado was expected.

According to Ndreca, this is an act of proof, while it was shown that prosecutor Dado was appointed legally. He said that in this case too, the system did not demonstrate the ability to self-correct.
“It was an expected decision, I have warned several times about how the process unfolded. The only way to escape a trial on the merits was to delegitimize, to prevent us from having real access to the court.
This was more a test for the system than whether the Administrative Court has the ability to fix the system’s problems. Dado was not appointed legally, and Dado himself has not disputed this fact. This time, the system did not show the ability to self-regulate.
We will pursue the truth to the end because it is not only about Veliaj, the Municipality of Tirana, and the damage being caused to citizens, but about the justice system and its failure to self-correct,” Ndreca stated.
