Citizens have gathered in Skanderbeg Square, marking the start of the 79th protest against the government. After assembling, they are expected to march toward the Prime Minister’s Office.

The protesters’ main demand continues to be the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama. “Rama, resign!” and “The homeland is not for sale!” are among the slogans repeated during the daily protests.
Protesters say the prime minister’s resignation remains a non-negotiable demand.
Meanwhile, the Albanian diaspora also took part in the protests held on August 14, 15 and 16.
