OBRM-PDUKM has accused the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (LSDM) and its leader, Venko Filipche, of attempting to create fear and panic without evidence through their statements about the possibility of building data centers in Macedonia.

According to the ruling Macedonian party, the opposition responds negatively whenever the idea of a new project emerges that could modernize the country and increase its competitiveness. OBRM-PDUKM claims that these reactions are accompanied by warnings that are not supported by sufficient facts or professional analyses.
“Filipche once again publicly took a categorical position on the possible construction of data centers in Macedonia, as if his own view were sufficient proof. Their statement also mentions Pehchevo, while noting that the initiative against data centers in that area has not been successful. After that, according to them, a new wave of fear swept through public opinion,” OBRM-PDUKM said.
The party emphasizes that the country needs investment, modern infrastructure and increased competitiveness. However, it stresses that every development must be carried out in accordance with the law, while ensuring environmental protection and high standards for citizens’ safety.
OBRM-PDUKM believes that instead of holding a discussion based on the benefits and risks of such investments, LSDM turns every development opportunity into a political issue and a source of fear.
“Macedonia needs development and vision, not political hysteria whenever an opportunity arises that could make it more modern and stronger,” OBRM-PDUKM said in its response.
