The ceremony will take place at 11:00, the President’s Office announced in a statement.
“At 11:00, the acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, will present the decree on Kosovo citizenship to Joe DioGuardi and Shirley Cloyes DioGuardi in a special ceremony,” the statement says.
The two American figures are known as among the most active Albanian-American lobbyists in support of Kosovo’s cause, especially in Washington.
In 1989, Joe DioGuardi founded the Albanian American Civic League (AACL), a lobbying organization that brought the issue of Kosovo Albanians to the attention of the U.S. Congress.
