After strong tensions, the Democratic Party blocked the podium and parliamentary chaos led to a 5-minute break. The head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, requested that the vote be taken directly without discussion.
Prime Minister Edi Rama was also present in the chamber after a long absence.
Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi moved the session directly to a vote, and with 84 votes in favor from the majority, the expert report prepared by the co-chair of the territorial reform, Arbion Mazniku, was approved.
The opposition did not participate in this vote, while debates in the chamber continue.
