At the height of the tourist season, one of the most worrying problems along the coastline of Vlora remains the lack of beach lifeguards.
In both public and private beaches, the watchtowers are empty. In many cases, they are used by vacationers simply as places to sit or to find some shade, while the personnel who should ensure safety at sea is missing.

Elderly people, who frequent this public beach every day, demand that safety not remain only on warning signs, but be guaranteed by the presence of trained lifeguards.
This situation has been repeated for years along the coastline of Vlora, although legislation stipulates that beach stations be equipped with certified lifeguards.
