In a post on X, renowned American economist Steve Hanke, professor of Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins University, issued another reaction to the mass protests taking place in Tirana against Edi Rama’s government.
Sharing footage from the protest, he also sent a message to citizens, saying they should not forget the words of Thomas Jefferson, one of America’s Founding Fathers and a former president.

“A little rebellion now and then is a good thing,” Hanke wrote, quoting Thomas Jefferson in words addressed to the protesters.
“For the 45th day, THOUSANDS of Albanians PROTESTED in Tirana against Jared Kushner’s project and Prime Minister Rama. The Flamingo Revolution should not forget the words of an American Founding Father and second President, Thomas Jefferson: ‘A little rebellion now and then is a good thing…’” he wrote.
