Sir Keir Starmer’s term as Prime Minister of Great Britain comes to an end this Wednesday, as he chairs the final government cabinet meeting at Downing Street.
Immediately after consultations with his ministerial team, Starmer will face Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the opposition, for the last time during the traditional Prime Minister’s Questions session in Parliament.

According to reports in the British press, his colleagues are expected to give him a farewell surprise during the cabinet meeting, presenting him with a greeting card and a modest gift, believed to be a desk clock.
Meanwhile, Parliament will close for the summer recess on Thursday, and MPs will not return to the chamber until September. This session also marks the final parliamentary debate before the seasonal break.
Andy Burnham is expected to officially take up the post of head of government next Monday. The Conservative Party has reacted sharply to the decision to suspend Parliament, stressing that the new prime minister will not be required to answer lawmakers’ questions for more than six weeks after taking office.
Burnham’s aides, on the other hand, argue that during the summer he will travel across the country to hold meetings and answer citizens directly, describing this as an innovative style of government.
