Due to the worsening security situation in the Middle East, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has called on air carriers to bypass the airspace near the Strait of Hormuz.
The guidance includes the sky over Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and the maritime area of the Gulf of Oman.

This notice will remain in force until July 29. Earlier, on July 8, EASA had allowed a similar warning to expire, considering that tensions had temporarily eased. However, the agency reinstated the measure after an escalation of clashes in the area.
The increase in regional insecurity comes after the temporary suspension of the 60-day ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
