Newly elected Vetëvendosje MP Mefail Bajqinovci has addressed the Kosovo Police with a call to take immediate measures against those who are riding electric scooters and bicycles in squares and pedestrian areas, putting citizens’ safety at risk.
According to him, powerful motorcycles that create a lot of noise on the capital’s streets are also disturbing citizens, while high speed and uncontrolled movement in public spaces are disrupting traffic and causing insecurity. He stressed that scooters, motorcycles and bicycles should not be allowed to move through the city square among pedestrians, because children, the elderly and all citizens are put at risk every day.

Bajqinovci added that squares are intended for pedestrians, not for races with scooters, motorcycles or bicycles.
He called for stricter checks, for violators to be punished and, when necessary, for the vehicles to be confiscated from those who break the law and endanger the lives of others. According to him, citizens’ safety must remain a priority.
