Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the initiative made public today, coordinated by Minister Demo, Karakaçi and AKEP, comes at the right moment and requires proper organization as well as high discipline to be carried out successfully, for all the reasons presented by the minister of local government.
According to him, the conditions now exist to clear cities of what he described as a “spiderweb” of plastic wires, left over from a period of development that had its own consequences, but was also necessary. Rama stressed that, as the inventory shows, most of the cables are no longer functional and have remained there as a sign of neglect and lack of care.

He also announced another initiative, extending in several strategic directions for communities across the country, which will be presented at a local government conference during the first 10 days of July.
This concerns a Rebirth 2.0 program, under the supervision of Minister Demo, which aims to address several elements that, according to Rama, have reached the point where they need to be handled at the state level and include the parts that have remained without investment. He underlined that these parts are fewer than those where investments have been made in water supply and sewerage, contrary to what is said, according to him, in the daily negative discourse.
The program, he added, will focus on the need for comprehensive intervention and will provide answers to needs that have still not been addressed. One of the objectives is to move urban and intercity transport to another level, starting with urban transport.
Rama said that the weakest point of the tourism industry system remains transport during the peak season, a period when tourists find it difficult to move around using vehicles provided by the public sector.
The objective, according to him, is to enter a phase in which transport is green, with electric buses. He also spoke about setting up a system for the use and administration of vehicles that will be under the management of municipalities.
According to Rama, this will be a collaboration between the government and municipalities. He said the system has been successfully piloted in Dibër and will now be extended across the entire territory, including a logistics park.
