The incident occurred on October 11, around 4:50 PM, when police patrols stopped for inspection a Škoda car with Skopje license plates, driven by the 39-year-old suspect. Inside the vehicle, near the village of Bogorodica, seven people without documents were found – five Afghan citizens and two Egyptians.

A few hours later, around 6:30 PM, police units also located two other migrants from Egypt, who are suspected of being part of the same group but had not managed to board the vehicle at the point known as Kravarski Pat.

Thus, the total number of migrants verified in this case rises to nine people.

On October 12, at 00:05, a 17-year-old adolescent from Egypt, who was temporarily residing in Greece, was also detained, suspected as a participant in the criminal activity defined under Article 418-B of the Penal Code.

The group of nine migrants has been escorted to the Reception and Transit Center in Gevgelija, while the two suspects – the 39-year-old man and the minor – have been held for questioning at the police station.

After the completion of investigative procedures and the full documentation of the case, the competent authorities will proceed with legal measures against the persons in handcuffs.
