On October 29, starting at 09:50 in the morning, a hearing will be held at the Court of Appeals where the appeals filed against the verdict in the murder of Liridona Ademaj will be discussed, among them the objection by Naim Murseli – the man sentenced to life imprisonment for taking the life of his wife.

The first-instance verdict is being challenged by Murseli’s defense through a 30-page document prepared by his two lawyers, through which they seek either the overturning of the verdict or the imposition of a lighter sentence.
In it, the defendant’s legal representatives argue that the first-instance court approached the evidence in a one-sided and partial manner. They also express doubts about the procedures followed by the police during Murseli’s questioning.
According to the defense, the judicial body failed to take into consideration some of its proposals, including the reconstruction of the scene where the incident occurred and the analysis of Murseli’s clothing.
Leotrim Syla, who legally represents the family of the late Liridona Ademaj, has also filed an objection in this matter at the Court of Appeals.
Syla has petitioned the Appeals Panel with the request that, in addition to Naim Murseli and Granit Plava, a life imprisonment sentence also be handed down to Kushtrim Kokalla.
