Greece: 58-year-old Albanian stabbed at home, police seek 17-year-old suspect

A 58-year-old Albanian national was seriously injured in a knife attack overnight at his home in Agia Galini, Rethymno, on the island of Crete.

Greek police are searching for a 17-year-old suspected of involvement in the incident. The victim lives in the area with his family.

The 58-year-old was stabbed twice in the abdomen during the attack. He was initially taken to the Moires Health Center, where he received initial medical treatment.

Because of his condition and injuries, doctors decided to transfer him by ambulance to Heraklion University General Hospital (PAGNI). A doctor accompanied the injured man during the transfer, and he continues to receive treatment in hospital.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances of the attack. Alongside the search for the 17-year-old, police are also working to determine the motive behind the stabbing of the Albanian man.
