Konjufca rejects Dačić’s remarks: Belgrade continues to pursue territorial ambitions toward Kosovo

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dačić’s statement about the Serbian flag flying over Prizren, and Milan Radoičić’s presence at a rally for Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Kragujevac, have prompted a response from Kosovo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Glauk Konjufca.

In a post on the social media platform X, Konjufca said the Serbian officials’ recent statements showed that Serbia continues to harbor territorial ambitions toward the Republic of Kosovo. He said Belgrade’s political rhetoric showed that these ambitions persist and are not confined to the past.

The minister referred to a statement Dačić made at an election rally this week, saying that the Serbian flag would one day fly over Prizren, a city in southern Kosovo. According to Konjufca, the statement once again exposed Serbia’s renewed territorial ambitions.

Konjufca also drew attention to Radoičić’s appearance alongside Danilo Vučić at an Aleksandar Vučić party rally in Kragujevac, just two days after Dačić’s statement. He noted that Radoičić is wanted by Interpol for the terrorist attack in Banjska, which he organized, and that Vučić again threatened the independence of the Republic of Kosovo at the rally.

For Konjufca, these events go beyond isolated provocations and reflect the continuation of a dangerous political doctrine. He described it as combining rhetoric about territorial expansion with impunity for armed aggression.

The minister argued that Serbia’s claims to support peace and European integration conflict with the actions of its senior officials, who openly question the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo. At the same time, he said, the admitted organizer of the deadly terrorist attack in Banjska remains free and appears publicly alongside the president’s family instead of being held accountable.

Konjufca called on the international community to clearly condemn these actions and demand accountability. He stressed that neither the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo nor justice for the terrorist attack in Banjska can be subject to negotiation.
