The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has authorized the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) to investigate the actions of police officers during the protest held on October 5 near the buildings of the Government and the Assembly of Kosovo.
IPK investigators will collect data and evidence to determine whether police officers exceeded their powers when using force to disperse the protesters, the Prosecution Office announced.

In coordination with the IPK, the Prosecution Office said it would take every necessary legal step to clarify suspicions that force was used beyond what was necessary and permitted by law.
“The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina remains committed to undertaking all investigative actions with the aim of fully clarifying all the circumstances that arose during the protest,” the statement said.
