During the Assembly session, where the proposal for legal amendments was being discussed, she said that the LDK considers the Kosovo Liberation Army’s war sacred. However, Lushaku-Sadriu expressed doubts about the legal consequences this initiative could bring.
“For the LDK, the KLA’s war is sacred,” she said.
According to the MP, even if the amendments are approved by the Assembly, this would not necessarily mean that they would have practical application.
“This initiative may not produce legal effect,” Lushaku-Sadriu said, warning that responsibility for and the consequences of this initiative could fall on the state of Kosovo.
She urged MPs to base their decision during the vote on the principles of justice and not only on the proposed political objective.
Lushaku-Sadriu recalled that, according to the LDK’s position, any attempt to change a ruling by the Specialist Chambers should be pursued through judicial proceedings and the appeals process.
For this reason, she reiterated that the LDK could not become involved in the initiative to amend the Law on the Specialist Chambers.
