Speaking to the media, Gucati said the veterans’ presence at the protest was intended to show solidarity with the students and young people. He added that they were waiting to see what would happen with the bill’s second reading.

“Today, we have come to join the students and young people. We have come today to await the bill’s second reading,” he declared.

According to Gucati, failure to approve the bill in its second reading would create an unfavorable situation not only for veterans, but also for the country’s institutions.

“If the second reading is not voted on, the situation will not be good either for us or for them—I mean the lawmakers and the government,” Gucati said.

The protest is being held outside the Assembly as lawmakers are expected to consider the proposed amendments to the laws concerning the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
