The shipment was selected for a detailed inspection after arriving at the Central Post Office. When it was opened, seven packages containing a solid green substance, placed in hermetically sealed bags, were found inside.
After the discovery, teams from the Operations Department were deployed to the scene. A dog trained to search for narcotics indicated the presence of drugs, while subsequent analysis confirmed that the substance contained THC.
R.V. was detained at the moment he collected the package. The authorities filed criminal charges against him for the unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.
By order of the public prosecutor, the narcotic substance was sent for forensic examination. The examination determined that it was hashish, which was subsequently seized. A statement from the Customs Administration said that the fight against serious crime remains one of the Customs Administration’s main priorities and that any attempt to illegally produce or distribute narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors will be strictly punished.
