Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is in New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, held a meeting with Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti at the “Turkish House.”

According to a statement from the Office of the President of Türkiye, the talks focused on bilateral relations between Ankara and Pristina, as well as regional and global developments.
During the meeting, Erdogan stressed that both sides aim to take further steps to expand trade exchanges in line with their potential, as well as to strengthen cooperation in security and the defense industry.
The statement said that the Turkish president reaffirmed Türkiye’s continued support for Kosovo, with the aim of helping it take its deserved place in the international community. Erdogan also said that Türkiye supports dialogue among the countries of the Balkans.
Erdogan also invited Prime Minister Kurti to the COP31 Leaders’ Summit, which will be held in Türkiye.
Those accompanying the Turkish president during the meeting were Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, the president’s chief adviser on Foreign Policy and Security, Akif Çagatay Kılıç, and the deputy chair of the Presidential Council for Security and Foreign Policy, Ambassador Çagrı Erhan.
