The serious incident took place on Tuesday morning in the Turgutlu district of Manisa, Turkey, near a secondary school. As a result of the armed attack, eight people, including students, were injured.

The governor of Manisa announced that a report of the shooting near the İnci Üzmez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School was received at around 07:59.
Immediately after the alert, a large contingent of police officers and medical teams was dispatched to the area. All eight injured people were taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities suspect that a hunting rifle was used during the attack. Following the operation launched after the incident, security forces managed to locate and arrest the suspect.
Security camera footage shows the suspect entering the schoolyard with the weapon in hand. In the recordings, the individual appears to move near the educational complex and, after firing the weapon, leave the scene while carrying it.
A judicial and administrative investigation has been opened into the case. Authorities are continuing their checks to clarify the circumstances of the incident and the motives behind the attack.
According to publicly released information, the perpetrator is suspected of having fled on foot after the attack, while police have launched a search to identify and arrest him.
