Albania’s Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office (SPAK) has issued a house arrest order for Vlora Hyseni, director of the State Intelligence Service.

The news was confirmed exclusively to BalkanWeb by journalist Klodiana Lala.
She officially took office in April 2023, becoming the first woman to lead Albania’s intelligence service.
Before this appointment, she had a long career in Kosovo’s national security structures.
After leaving her posts in Kosovo, she served for around two years as national security adviser to Albania’s Prime Minister, Edi Rama.
SHISH director: In March 2023, Rama proposed her as head of SHISH. She was officially appointed by President Bajram Begaj on April 3, 2023, and presented as head of the institution the following day.
