Lawyer Arianit Koci has called on the legal representatives of the KLA leaders to speak publicly and explain what happened during the trial at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

In a Facebook post, Koci asked how these convictions were reached, where the problem lay, and why there had been no warning that the proceedings could end this way.
He stressed that political interpretations concern domestic issues, while the defense teams are expected to provide a professional, direct, and specific explanation.
According to Koci, the lawyers have a duty to account to the public, as they defended Kosovo’s highest-ranking state figures, including the country’s former president.
He also noted that around €40 million has so far been allocated from Kosovo’s budget for the legal defense of all those accused and suspected by The Hague, while total support for these four alone has reached around €28.5 million.
