The recording, made public by British media, begins with the woman making a selfie video in a residential area. Moments later a loud noise is heard and then the scene is lit up by the explosion. The video ends as glass shattering and her screams are heard.
Whether the woman survived the explosion remains unknown.
Reports place the rocket strike near a grocery store and several residential buildings. In footage recorded after the attack, damaged homes can be seen, as well as burned or destroyed vehicles.
Emergency crews went to the scene to help the injured. Some of them needed medical treatment.
The strike in the Kharkiv region was one of the attacks in a wider Russian wave against Ukraine on Sunday. According to media outlets, a total of six victims were recorded in two cities.
These attacks occurred as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of violating the announced ceasefire concerning energy infrastructure.
Earlier, United States President Donald Trump had announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed that attacks on energy facilities would stop immediately. Zelensky, however, stated that even after the announcement, drone attacks and strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure continued.
At the same time, American General Alexus Grynkewich, NATO’s supreme commander for Europe, issued a warning to Moscow: an attack against any Alliance member state would receive a powerful response.
