An operation targeting the trafficking of firearms from Kosovo to Albania has been concluded in Maminas, where police seized 3 pistols, 34 combat rounds, a vehicle and a bladed weapon.

During the operation codenamed “Links,” citizen M. B., 34, a resident of Kukës, was arrested in flagrante delicto. He is suspected of transporting the weapons by vehicle.
He is accused of the criminal offenses of “Trafficking in weapons and ammunition” and “Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of bladed weapons.”
The 39-year-old passenger, identified by the initials D. N., a resident of Prizren, was also arrested. She is suspected of the criminal offense of “Failure to report a crime.”
The weapons are suspected to have been trafficked from Kosovo and were intended to be sold to criminal groups. Searches also continued at the 34-year-old man’s home, where a bladed weapon, an iron knuckle, was seized.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
