In an interview with News24, former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji described the scandal involving Vlora Hyseni, the former head of the State Intelligence Service (SHISH), who is accused of helping Ergys Agasi with secret information while he was on the run, as the most serious situation ever to befall the Albanian state.

Salianji stressed that the prime minister had attempted to wash his hands of the matter, but added that the scandal was his responsibility.
He also said that the prime minister was mocking the public when he claimed that Hyseni had been appointed to head SHISH because of positive references from international partners.
According to him, Vlora Hyseni had a “stain” on her career because she was dismissed from Kosovo’s Intelligence Agency after allegedly leaking state information.
“This is the most serious situation ever to befall the state. It is moral, ethical and institutional decay—and, worse still, the capture of the state by organized crime groups. SHISH is the most important link. The head of the service has been captured, and not in a romantic way, but deliberately. She was chosen because she serves criminal groups by blackmailing and threatening politicians and journalists, among others. How was she chosen? This is a case of making a mockery of the people. How did she become an adviser? Was she singled out because she was outstanding in public life? She had been dismissed in Kosovo because of an issue involving the leakage of data to Serbia. And she was brought in for this reason; she is a person with problems, has problems, and can be blackmailed. People who can be blackmailed are put in place. There is no clear investigation here,” he said.
He stressed that certain SHISH personnel data had also been made public today, and, according to him, the people behind this were not the Iranians, but former director Vlora Hyseni, Ergys Agasi and Ermal Beqiri.
He said that this group had also been behind the TIMS system scandal several years ago.
“The sewage has burst its banks and it will not stop. That is why Edi Rama must step down to save himself and Albania. It is 100 percent his responsibility. The prime minister chooses someone whom nobody knows, who does not come from the services here, who has not passed the vetting filters, and who is imposed simply because this person likes her. Which partner said she was excellent? Something else has come to light today. Did you know that there is very likely no Iranian involvement in the material that has emerged? Certain numbers belonging to Service personnel had been disclosed. The responsibility for what has emerged lies with her, Ergys Agasi and Ermal Beqiri. The same group was involved in the data from the TIMS system. How did the two of them—Hyseni and Agasi—meet? This man, with no political power whatsoever, influences SHISH and abuses his influence at AKSHI, the Cadastral Agency, state institutions and the police,” he said.
