The protesters’ main demand is the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Students accuse the head of government of leading an administration riddled with corruption and organized crime.
“Resign” is the chant echoing repeatedly along the boulevard. Lecturers began their protest in the early hours of the morning and have drawn up five demands, the first of which calls for the prime minister to step down.
