Well-known journalist Klodiana Lala has revealed details about the incident that occurred in the early hours of the morning at the “Principote” nightclub in Ksamil, where 29-year-old Sokrat Vata fatally stabbed Portuguese tourist Luis Miguel Varela Mendes.

Lala also emphasized that the brawl during the party initially began inside the venue, while the killing took place near the sun loungers.
Police officer Moisid Matushaj, who was employed by the business, was also involved in the mass brawl.
During the physical altercation, Vata sustained injuries and then went outside, where he fatally stabbed the young man.
The journalist said an employee of the venue notified the police, while officer Moisid Matushaj, who had also been involved in the brawl, helped Vata flee.
“During the argument, a police officer also intervened. He was working a second job there. He became involved as well. A major brawl broke out. After Sokrat Vata sustained injuries and was wounded, he went outside and then stabbed him near the sun loungers. He left the scene with the help of a colleague. The colleague accompanied him for some distance, but it was unclear what had happened. Sokrat Vata told him that they needed to go to the hospital because he was injured. He left him by the roadside, and it was an employee of the venue who notified the police. Meanwhile, Moisid Matushaj was involved in the brawl, as well as in another incident that also occurred in Saranda, and then helped Sokrat Vata flee,” the journalist said.
Journalist Lala emphasized that the brawl is suspected to have started because of an Albanian woman who was identified through security camera footage and is expected to be questioned.
“There is talk of an Albanian woman whose testimony will be taken because she was identified through the cameras. The Portuguese man was at the venue with French nationals,” she said.
The journalist also warned that further arrests are expected.
“Further arrests are expected. The Vlora Police Directorate and the prosecutor’s office are in the process of signing additional arrest warrants. Bekim Bulica, the owner, has had legal issues and was on file for criminal activity,” she said.
