Lawyer Zaçe Islami has made serious accusations about the way former Kosovo Defense Minister Ahmet Krasniqi was killed, having been executed in Tirana under circumstances that still have not been fully clarified by the justice system.
According to Islami, certain parts of the Albanian secret service, acting in cooperation with people connected to the political life of that period, may have played a role in the elimination of important figures close to the Democratic League of Kosovo.

“The core of the Kosovo Liberation Army is FARK. They have been accused of killing the leaders of the LDK soldiers. One of them is former Defense Minister Ahmet Krasniqi, who was killed in Tirana.”
“He was a statesman, a true Albanian man, with all the qualities of an Albanian. He was killed by the Albanian secret service, in cooperation with the Serbian secret service and with PDK spies,” Islami said.
Described by his contemporaries as a figure of political and military weight in the Albanian national cause, Ahmet Krasniqi continues to remain one of the most debated names regarding the circumstances of his killing.
