The document signed by the minister himself on July 21, 2026, outlines a structure with five full members and five deputies, totaling ten people. None of these names belong to the Albanian community.
Heading the commission is Prof. Dr. Zllate Stojanovski, while the members are Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Pivkova Velanovska, Prof. Dr. Sasha Trajkova, Dr. Llazar Çadievski, Prof. Dr. Rubens Jovanoviq, and Prof. Dr. Igor Stojkovski. The deputies include Prof. Dr. Sonja Genadieva Stavrikj, Dr. Marija Popova Labçevska, Prof. Dr. Simonida Jovanovska, and Prof. Dr. Slavica Kunovska.
This working group will have a two-year mandate and will deal with the evaluation of oncology cases, providing recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
The exclusion of Albanian professionals from this body, which influences therapeutic decisions for cancer patients, has sparked numerous reactions. The single-ethnic nature of the commission raises serious dilemmas regarding the implementation of the principle of fair and equitable representation in public health institutions.
