The discussion focused on strengthening relations between the two municipalities, including the possibility of twinning Chair with Vakarici and organizing joint cultural activities.
Mexhiti emphasized that the Arbëresh and Albanians are united by their history, language, and heritage, preserved from generation to generation. According to him, these ties can take on a new dimension through institutional cooperation and joint projects.
The meeting also addressed issues of importance to the Albanian community in Skopje, including the use of Albanian names for streets in Chair and the “Mother Teresa” University Campus, described as one of the most important projects for higher education in the Albanian language in the country.
The mayor of Chair described the visit as a positive starting point for further cooperation, which is expected to take concrete shape through joint initiatives and projects between the two municipalities.
