At least 10 people have been killed and 64 others injured in a devastating explosion involving pyrotechnic materials during a religious ceremony in Mexico.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening near the Nuestra Señora de la Luz church in the city of Temascalcingo, in the central Mexican state of Mexico.
A large crowd of worshippers had gathered to take part in the rites and traditional fireworks display when the pyrotechnic devices unexpectedly exploded. The force of the blast caused a wall to collapse, striking dozens of people. According to a local bishop, two priests are among those injured.
Videos shared on social media capture the chaotic moments after the explosion, as those present move through thick smoke and rubble, trying to find survivors.
The cause of the explosion remains unclear. Authorities from the State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
